You are fast filling in gaps in my family tree - Thank You! Yes, Ida married second Robert Foote & had a son, Glen Lockwood Foote, who had a son, Ernest Foote, who had 6 daughters (I am #2). As I said, the probated Will is my only source of info on the family and it is a struggle to understand the relationships. For example, I thought Nellie was the child of Lyman (because of the Lockwood name). I also could not figure out who were the parents of Glee & Glen. Ida, my great-grandmother also died in Huron, SD - I never understood why, because I didn't know any family from there. The Will is that of Bessie Squire Lockwood who died in 1896. It does not give her husband's name, but it gives the names of his sister's and brother's: Lentha L. marr George Butler, Martha L. marr Stephen Rider & (I think) William Cockroft, Ransom G. marr Aurora B. (Bessie made special provisions for her), William marr Della Wright (my direct line), and Martin Russell marr Mary Wright. Although William, Ida & Zula's father, died in 1907, the Will went to probate court in 1964 and the battle for the estate was between the Squire family (Bessie's maiden name) and the Adam's family (Bessie's favorite niece who was named after her). My grandfather Glen's sister, Vera, had an attorney respond to the court in 1964 and again in 1972, which is why I have a copy of the will. I still don't understand all the legal mess with probating a will 68 years after Bessie's death. But, I'm very glad to have all the names & locations. Thank you again for your help trying to figure out these relationships!
