John Kepford (1802 - 1883) siblings

I have copies of excerpts from letters from Mary Kepford Honn (daughter of the above John) to her granddaughter, Edith Mary Honn Peterson in which she states:
"I find my great great grandfather's name was George. He came from Alsace, France. - The Germans had taken it."
And:
"Catherine Smith and John Kepford both born in Penn. All children born in Penn. John Kepford had 3 brothers, Philip, Fred and Jake and 2 sisters. Haty the other one married and moved to Ill. They wrote one letter after they got there. That's the last they ever heard from them. They did their best to find what had become of them but never did. I found out a year or so ago that some of my cousins on my father's side live in Ill. and that their father was at the Soldiers Home in Boise, Idaho. They had lived in Iowa, Cresent was their town. Their father had never let my father know about it."
