Hello,
I have a lot of info on your Hopkins since I live near Hopkins, MN which was named for Harley8 Holmes Hopkins, 1823RI - 1882MN, whose ancestor Thomas4 Hopkins was a brother to your William4 Hopkins. The historical society in Hopkins, MN had some Hopkins Bible records I copied hoping to find a line for my William Henry Hopkins b1838 Erie Co., NY, son of John Hopkins b@1800 NY and an unknown woman who spoke German. Still haven't found my line yet. Do you have them in yours?

Seth6 Hopkins b1748 RI m.1772 Mary Darling, d/o Ebenezer Darling & Mary Hakes. (I have some info on Hakes in Iowa).
Children of Seth & Mary:

Gideon7 b1773 RI > Bridgewater, Onieda Co., NY

Stephen7 b1775 m. Abigail Burgess

Jabez7 b1777

Elijah7 b1785, March 1 in Glocester, RI m.1822 Rachel Gee in Virgil, Cortland Co., NY

Darling b. Dec.3, 1774 (not sure about this one as parents were not named, but probable because of Mary's surname.

Have lots more info on earlier Hopkins. Let me know what you need.

Thanks for your posting!
Lee
