I would like to correct your information on the picture of the "Kephart family crest" which you show on your web site that you took several years ago in Erlach, Germany. We visited my husbands homeland last year and went to the village of Erlach where we found a 300 plus page book written by the local historians, priests from Erlach archives in 1998. The book dates back to the 1300 period. When we asked the historians about records of the 1076 - 1147 time period and Heinrich Erlach, they did not reconize his name. There were other Erlach names, but they did not live there according to the historians. There was a Claus Gebhart connected with the castle as caretaker in 1457//1463.
The picture you took of the couple in marble in the inside of the castle, was Fabian and Margareta von Seinsheim who were the owners together with their descendants living there from 1495 through 1515. It is not a Kephart family crest. I bought the book and it is in German which I can't read, but my husband can.
Since I have now read on the computer that other Kepharts have picked up on this picture labeled Kephart family crest, and refer to you, I felt you should know as well as others that this couple Von Seinsheim is not a Kephart family crest photo. I hope this helps Kephart researchers.
