I have done some more research. You may already have some of this information.

William J. Evans & Edith L. Morgan married 17 Nov 1897, Monroe Co., IA

Edith Morgan Evans died 6 Jul 1909, buried Oak View Cemetery, Albia, IA, Lot 8. Source Grave Stone Records of Monroe Co., IA; copied by Graves Registration a W.P.A. project.

I have not been able to locate William. I discovered he was listed in the 1880 census, Deep River, IA, Poweshiek Co., as Willice. I will keep looking as time permits.

I also found that Mary Evans died 7 Apr 1915, buried Sixteen Cemetery, near Thronburg, IA. (Mrs. David) Source Grave Stone Records of Keokuk Co., IA

I also found David S. Evans died 3 Nov 1903 and is buried the same place. His wife listed as Mary who d. 1915.

This has to be our Mary Capehart since that is where Andrew Capehart and Letittia Capehart are buried. My husband and I were at the cemetery in May and took pictures of tombstones but didn't know Mary might be buried there. The birthdate is right. Do you have information you could send me on David & Mary's children to add to my genealogy reserach? The only information I had prior to yours is date of her birth and she had one daughter.

I will ask my husband if he remembers seeing Evans tombstones nearby. It looks like we need to repeat the same trip. I have learned so much information since then. The only pictures I have are of the Capehart tombstones. If you are interested in them, I will gladly share. You can email me at
