Be very careful when researching the KEPHART family, the names repeat and repeat over and over. It gets VERY confusing. Your Jon Wesley may have been off of John D. Kephart line who is buried in Battle Creek, Ida County, IA.

John D. had two wives and a VERY large family. His first wife Elizabeth died in 1863 at Dubuque County, Iowa, Which I have several of his children also born there including John W. John D. then joined the Civil War and when he got out of it he married Sarah Jane Smith, 12 Oct. 1865 at Dubuque County Iowa. There is too much to put here, but if you would like more info, please email me personally.

Our line is Henry Green Kephart, John D.'s brother.
