My husband is a Kerby. His family comes from the Belleville area. His ancestor is supposed to have come from Limerick to Oswego, New York and on to the Belleville area. We believe is name was Daniel Kerby. There is a tradition in this branch of the family to alternate between the names Daniel and John for the first born sons. We have records of his son John Kerby living in Belleville and then Coe Hill. I don't know if he is related to the other Kerbys who settled in Belleville and Quebec but I would think there probably is a connection.
