Hello, I'm not sure if Riley is Dorcas's father or not. I haven't ran across Dorcas or Riley Kirby in my family tree. Do you know if Riley Kirby had two sons, William W. and Calvin Kirby? If he did, then this is some of your kin. They have two death records from the Caldwell County Public Library on William W. Kirby and Calvin Kirby. Their father is listed as Riley Kirby and their mother is listed as "Not Stated". If this sounds familiar with you, then you may want to come to the Caldwell County Public Library in Lenoir, North Carolina or to the Caldwell County Register of Deeds office to get their death certificates. My great-great-great grandfather was Enoch Kerby (Kirby) and I can't prove it but I believe his father was John Kerby (Kirby) because they were both living in the Head of the Yadkin Township of Wilkes County, NC in the 1840 Wilkes County Census books. You may want to check out a Wilkes County Heritage Book on the Kerby (Kirby) family and maybe check out the Wilkes County, NC Census books. Also check out, this website is really helpful. Also, check out as well. I hope some of this may help you in your research.

Good luck on your research,
