Not a descendant of Mathias Reed, but his brother Solomon Reed who died Pettis Co., MO c 1847. Their brother, Samuel Reed died in Bates Co. MO.
All three Reed lines have ties to the same Brock family.
It all starts with Perry Green Brock (c 1789 SC - c 1862 TX) and his sister Elizabeth (Brock) Fuller(1793 SC - 1848 Pettis Co., MO.
Before 1816 Perry Green Brock #1 settled in present Pettis Co MO. A couple of years later Solomon Reed acquired the adjoining land.
In 1825, the now widowed Solomon Reed married the now widowed Elizabeth (Brock) Fuller. Each had first marriage children and had more together.
By this time Perry Green Brock #1 had moved on to just outside of Independence, Jackson Co. MO. Solomon's son David Reed followed the Brocks to Jackson Co. where he married Perry Green #1's daughter Fatima Jane "Timy" Brock in 1827 (my ancestors). About that same time Perry Green #1's son James E. Brock married Henrietta Pitcher. James and Henrietta's son was Perry Green Brock #2 who married twice - into Mathis Reed's line - to daughters of Bennett Hale and Alsey Reed.
But that is not the end of the Reed/Brock ties.
Now to the third brother Samuel Reed who later moved from Lafayette Co. MO to Bates Co., MO. His son Solomon Reed married Rachel Demand Brock, another daughter of Perry Green Brock #1.
