Hola I am from Chicago and looking for anyone with info regarding surname Kercado from Fajardo, Puerto Rico in the 1800's through the 1900's. My grandmothers name was Rosalia Kercado, Mitchell and born in 1903. I don't know where the name Mitchell comes from. The story is she had an older brother named Jose Manuel Kercado who was a Math teacher and a Mason and may have had a son. Their mother supposedly died giving birth to Rosalia and her name was either Viana or Viviana. Their fathers name was Sandalio Kercado who would have been married to Viviana. My mother Maria Dolores, Colon is the daughter of Rosalia Kercado, Mitchell from an Angel Colon who was from San Juan Puerto Rico and lived out his years in New York and passed there. My mom also mentions hearing the name Amador Kercado, Mitchell from my grandmother. Not sure where he fits in. I did find military records about him but found no connection to Rosalia other then the two surnames being the same and he was from Fajardo as well and was a Proffesor at a school there. I am not sure if my mother is confusing Amador with Jose Manuel being my grandmothers brother, being that Amador
fits into the mention of her brother being a teacher. Maybe Jose Manuel is the son of Amador??? If anyone has any information contact me at my email address.
Thank you, Cecelia
