Brenda, I am a descendant of this Carter/Kerfoot line. My line is through Arthur Watson Carter and Mary Polly Kerfoot. I notice that you have Arthur listed as Arthur William Carter.
Arthur Watson Carter and Polly had a son Watson Carter, b.Dec. 20, 1796, in Va. He married Hannah Marvin in 1832 in Frederick Co. Va. and died in Sept. 16, 1877, Darksville, Randolph Co., Missouri.
Could my Watson Carter and Arthur Watson Carter's received this name as a result of your Watson ancestors?
OR do you disagree that Arthur Watson was really Arthur William? I do not have absolute proof of Arthur Watson, but I have located Watson Carter's grave stone in Darksville, Mo. to indicate that he was in fact Watson Carter.
Thoughts??
