According to a genealogy my uncle put together, William Kerfott was a seargent in the revolutionary war. He was born in 1724, married in 1745 and his will was dated 1779. He was of English stock, from Dublin, Ireland and arrived here in the upper waters of the Opequon, Frederick County, Virginia.

I would like further information on his lienage in England if you have it...

He married Mary Elizabeth Carter (b. 1727, d. 1774/77) and they begat George Kerfoot in 1746. George's son was John Kerfoot "of Providence" (b 6/19/1768/69; m. 1790/93; d. 12/23/1841), who married Lydia Sowers (b. 1772/77; d. 1840/44). Their 8th child was Franklin Kerfoot, MD (b. 10/19/1810, d. 8/4/1887). His son was Franklin Howard Kerfoot, Dr., Rev. LLB, who maried Mattie Mason Price in 1878. On 4/2/1870, Branch Price Kerfot, LLB, was born- His son Bartlett Kerfoot, was born on 12/06/1926... my father....

There are still related Kerfoots in Virginia - William Kerfoot lives in a twn in the mountains of Va somewhere - I forget where, and Lawrenceburg, Ky is also a family spot...
