Emma Kerl [sometimes Kerle or Kyrl]

My paternal grandmother's grandmother was Emma Kerl [1813 - 1899], the daughter of William Kerl II and Ann Clapham and the wife of William Smith II. The Kerls lived at "Hammonds End" near Shaffords Hill and attended Saint Peter's Church in St. Albans. Emma Kerl Smith and her younger children emigrated to Canada on the "British Queen" in the 1840's. I am looking for more information about the Kerl family and their ancestors.
