Hi John: My husband is Christopher Kernan. His family has told him the the Kernan's were from Dublin, Ireland, They left Dublin in 1860, at the time of the second potatoe famine. They arrived in New York, settling in the Port Ewen, Ulster County, New York area. All remained there for about 20 years. Half of the family remained in New England and the other half went out west.
