Francis Kernan - Senator from New York

Does anyone have the genealogy of Francis Kernan who was a US Senator from NY in the later half of the 1800's? I understand that Anna Kernan who married Edward Mangan in Ireland (1820's) may be related to Francis Kernan. Anna's eldest child, Michael Mangan, was born on 30 Sept 1830 in Dromore Parish, Tyrone, Ireland. Michael came to the US in 1853/1854 and lived in Wisconsin. He lost a leg at Gettysburg during the American Civil War. Edward Mangan died 23 Jan 1876 in Fond Du Lac, WI. I don't think that Anna Kernan came to the US. I would like to know if Anna is related to Francis Kernan and more about her ancestors and life. Thanks.
