Kernan's working for railroad

Does anyone on this forum have Kernan ancestors who worked for the railroad (do not know which one) and maybe would have been in Tennessee at one time around the 1860"s? I'm looking for a Mary Josephine Kernan who according to her marriage record was born about 1861 and her sons stated on the 1900 Texas census that she was born in Tennessee.

She married a John W. Luther in Pulaski Arkansas in 1880 - I suspect he may have been working for the railroad also. Have not been able to find them together. They later divorced and she remarried in Texas. This John W. Luther was from Pennsylvania and was born about 1852.
