No, but my husband's grandfather was a Lawrence Kernan whose background is pretty much a mystery. He would have been born in the latter part of the 19th century (1870 or later, I imagine). Rumor has it he was from Canada, so there may be a connection. He traveled with a theatre group and married my husband's grandmother in VA around 1915-1918. I guess this was scandalous; I believe they eloped after she met him through the acting troop.
Anything you could share might be helpful.
