KIERNAT family Minnesota
Posted by: Jean Kiernat (ID *****3258) Date: May 14, 2002 at 20:23:57

We are trying to locate any information on my husband's grandfather, John B. Kiernat who was an optometrist in Minneapolis and St. Paul in the late 1800s and early 1900s. He disappeared, leaving a wife and four children in 1905. He was born in Poland and came to Minnesota about 1885. We are at a dead end. We know of no other relatives of John Kiernat and we no nothing of him before 1885 or after 1905. Since the name is often misspelled, we are checking with your Kernut family...the Kiernat name is usually pronouced as if it were "Kernut". Thanks for any ideas.
