James Kerr 1823 Prince Edward Island. My great grandfather was James Kerr, born on Prince Edward Island in 1823. The 1881 census has him and his family in Wellington Ward, Ottawa, Carleton, Ontario. The census shows a son, William Kerr age 26; born in New Brunswick, Occupation carpenter. He is my great uncle. Since census records are notorious for getting dates and spellings wrong, could this be your great grandfather? If so I can send you information about other members of the family. I am trying to find James Kerr's parents.
