Kessinger family lore.

The story past down to me from my late grandfather," John T Kessinger", is that two brothers came over from Germany: One went noth and the other south never to be heard of again. The one that went south wound up eventually settled in Kentucky. My grandfather told me a story of him and his brother riding to town on the back of a buckboard[Their father driving] and they saw two men who were hung on a tree. Their father said that the men were Hatfields. I also have a Konk Shell that suposedly belonged to the brother that went north. Anyone else ever here this story? I'm sure my grandfather told the truth about the two men that were hung but not sure of the Konkshell. It is very old for sure considering how worn it is and flat on two different side, hard to explain, seeing is believing I suppose. J.V. Kessinger
