Lael,
I will include some of the information I sent you, on this family web-site, in case someone else is also looking for information on Johann George. ..... Deloris

.....................JOHANN GEORGE KESSINGER .....................

Johann George Kessinger -- (Andreas’s older brother) was born about 1700/1702 near Sandhoven/Saltzen in the Duchy of Baden, in the Electoral Palatinate, of Germany.

The earliest recorded document that is known that contains information about Johann George is in the 1737 Church Register of the Lutheran Church – Welsh Neurant 3721 (near Karlshrue, Germany); which notes the names of Johann George Kessinger and his five children as members of the congregation.

Johann George (and it is presumed, his wife Maria Margaretha _____ and their 5 children) accompanied Andreas and his family in 1737, on the ship WILLIAM, to the New World.

They settled in the same township of Warrick, in Lancaster County, in the Province of Pennsylvania as Andreas and his family did. (The same township that Hans Jacob Kiessinger had settled in 10 years before.)

The only two records that we have about Johann and Margaretha are from the:

Records of the Warrick Congregation, Warwick Twp., Lancaster Co., Province of Penn. (page 8)

Sept. 21, 1739 -- A daughter, Maria Catarina, born to John Jacob Weyl;
Baptized - Jan. 27, 1740.
Sponsors: John George Kessinger and his wife Margaretha.

Records of the Warrick Congregation, Warwick Twp., Lancaster Co., Province of Penn. (page 13)

Oct. 16, 1741 -- A daughter, Maria Catharina, born to John George Kessinger:
Baptized - Nov. 1, 1741
Sponsors: Jacob Weyl and wife".

After the above notice of Johann and Margaretha having their daughter -- Maria Catarina in 1741; there are no known additional records about them, which we are aware of.

One of the “traditional folkloric” stories that have come down through the years, is that they had 5 daughters – and that Johann George Kessinger’s “name-line” came to an end. We do not know if this is true, or not.
