My gggrandmother, M.E. Kessinger, was married to Daniel O'Conner. The only info I have on her is from the 1880 census where I find her in Hillsboro, Illinois. She was born about 1852 in Kentucky as were her parents. She gave birth to seven children, the last one dying with her in about 1889. I found the grave of one of her children who died in 1898, Jesse, at the Clear Springs Cemetery in Hillsboro.
Her husband had suffered severe frostbite during the Civil War and had to wear burlap sacks on his feet while farming. Does any of this strike a bell with anyone? She had such a short life and deserves to be remembered by someone. I am happy to see there are so many enthusiastic, proud Kessinger family members out there.
