       Francis Asbury Kessler, “Frank”, b. 22 June 1853, in Frederick Co. Maryland; d. 24 September 1917, at Gaithersburg, Montgomery Co. Maryland. He is buried Mount Olivet Cemetery, Fredericktown, Frederick Co. Maryland.
                            Married: Lucretia6 Lavinia Linthicum, “Lula”, “Lulu”, (Charles5, Amasa4, Hezekiah3, Thomas2, Thomas1), on 4 August 1880, daughter of Reverend Charles Garland Linthicum and Ann Louise (Pearre): b. 1 April 1851; d. 8 June 1929, “at the home of her son”, Relay, Baltimore Co. Maryland, aged 78y 2m 7d. She is buried Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Fredericktown, Frederick Co. Maryland.
                            They had six children, two died young.
                            On 5 February 1900 Governor Smith of Maryland appointed Francis Kessler Justice of the Peace, District 7, Frederick Co. Maryland.

                            THE FREDERICK POST, Frederick City Maryland, 27 September 1917, p. 5, DEATHS, Mr. Francis A. Kessler, “Mr. Francis A. Kessler, Relay, Md., aged 65 years, suddenly died at the home of his sister, Mrs. Charles Horman, Gaithers, Md., Monday, September 24, 1917. His wife, Lula L. Kessler survive him. — The funeral will take place from the residence of his sister today at 11 o’clock. Interment in Mt. Olivet cemetery.”

                            THE FREDERICK POST, Frederick City Maryland, 13 June 1929, p. 5, DEATHS, Mrs. Lucretia L. Kessler, “Mrs. Lucretia Levina Kessler, widow of Francis A. Kessler, died Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at the home of her son, J. Edgar Kessler, Relay, Baltimore county, at the age of 78 years 2 months and seven days. Death was due to complications. She was a daughter of the late Charles T. and Anna Linthicum. She is survived by three sons, George, Windsor and Francis; also two sisters. Funeral services were held Tuesday from the home of her son at 11 o’clock. Interment was made in Mt. Olivet cemetery, Frederick.”
                            Children of Francis Asbury Kessler and Lucretia Lavinia (Lithicum): i. Jacob Edgar (1882-1952), served in World War I; ii. Windsor Linthicum (1885-1938, served in World War I); iii. Francis Garland “Frank” (1888-after 1952, served in World War II); and iv. George Evans (1891-1938, served in World War I); v. —— (d. young) and vi. —— (d. young) Kessler.
