Kathy...lots has happened in the 3-1/2 years since my posting. My Moritz died insane in 1881 at Dixmont Hospital in Kilbuck, Allegheny County, PA. Ancestry has the 1857 passenger list with his name. He married Martha WETTLAUFER and they had five children -- no sign of her after 1870 census. I have Moritz' naturalization papers. Your Frank intended to go to Milwaukee, my Moritz intended to go to New York. Others on board the ship "Agnes" intended to go to Pittsburgh: Johannes (32-11/12) and Romana (27-1/12) FROMM, Heinrich (27-10/12) and Sophie (24)EKELMANN and Carl KIMPEL (21-6/12). Perhaps they befriended Moritz and he decided to accompany them. Do you recognize these surnames? Do you know where in Germany your Frank was born? I'll be glad to share any information I have with you. This brick wall must someday crumble! Thanks.
