You appear to be asking about Mary Kestner, 9th and youngest child of John M. Kestner and his first wife, Mary Catherine Gobble. Mary Kestner, nicknamed Polly, married James George Todd, in Washington County, Virginia on 1 July 1861. They removed to Fentress County, Tennessee where James died prior to the 1900 census.

James George Todd is the son of William Todd and Amanda Jane Gobble. John M. Kestner is the son of Philip Kestner who died in Washington County ca. 1809. Philip’s parentage is something of a puzzle, but his wife Elizabeth’s Merchant/Marchant ancestry can be traced for a number of generations. The Gobble/Gabel line is traceable to the 1600's and to the Duchy of Zweibruecken in what is now Germany.

There have been a great many Kestner/Gobble marriages in Southwest Virginia. James S. Gobble of Tillamook, Oregon lists hundreds of our kinfolk in his Gobble Family book.

At present I have no recorded children for Mary and James Todd. Any information you can furnish to fill this gap will be appreciated.
