Ruth:
The time frame of 1849 is close to the approximate time that our gggrandfather came to this country. Gabriel Kettner was born in 1832 and supposedly came to this country with his brother whom he lost contact with and never saw again. I don't know where they entered this country. Can you tell me more about Anna, i.e., birthdate, sibblings, full name, etc?

I have been unable to find any info prior to the Civil War for my gggrandfather, Gabriel Kettner. He enlisted in Civil War in Alabama and later settled in Texas. Prior to that time, I know nothing. Have you heard any of these facts from anyone in your family?

We have heard that our ancestors may have come from the Baden area, but it has not been proven.

Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for responding to my inquiry.
Retreva
