I lost your e-mail address in my "crash." I have lots of new information on our Ellis line. Well, actually, the SPICER line. Julia Ester Spicer married Thomas Ellis. Julia was the mother of Mae and my grandfather, Harvey. This has been a difficult line for us because Julia was brought to Nebraska as a young girl in 1873 by neighbors of her family in Illinois. According to family history, Julia knew very little of her life in Illinois, only that she came from a family of 12 children. I found William Fines in the 1880 census of Nebraska and with him Julia FINES, step-daughter, 13 yrs. old. I knew she wasn't his actual step-daughter so it was back to Illinois.
The key to finding her family came when I located William FINES in the 1870 IL census. Lo and behold....next to William was a family of Spicers! And there was a Julia E. Spicer, 4yrs old.
Let me hear from you so I can fill you in on what I've gathered on Julia.
