Philip, Veronica, William Casper, Casper Kettering

Phillip Kettering (b. 1787, Sumner, TN, d. 1860, Wayne Ohio) married Fronica (Veronica) Stauffer on 23 Sep 1806, according to the Tabor Lutheran Church records. They had seven children in Lebanon before heading west around 1830; I am primarily interested in William Casper Kettering, born c. 1812. I have no documentation of his birth except a mention in H.H. Catron's comprehensive book. I am looking for a citation, a church record, a mention of some sort.

Philip and Veronica took all their children (except Samuel, I think, who went later) west to Wayne County, Ohio - I have both of their burial records and a copy of Philip's will. William Casper never made it past Warren (the early name for Apollo) PA, in Armstrong County. There (according to Catron) he married Elizabeth Ashbaugh. Some sources indicate that the wedding took place in 1832, in Harrison City. I have no record of this marriage except secondary citations.

William Casper and Elizabeth had six children, all of Warren (Apollo), between 1833 and 1840; I have a copy of the 1840 Census listing "Casper Kittering" and then just numbers - but the numbers all correspond to the correct children.

By 1850, all of his children appear on various census rolls living with other families. Presumably, Wm. Casper and Elizabeth met with an untimely death between 1840 and 1850.

I am looking for two specific citations - a birth, baptismal, christening or other reference that confirms William Casper Kettering's birth to Phillip and Veronica, and a similar document for Casper. Does anyone have such a citation?

Please feel free to visit my website - www.halbstein.com/dhGenealogy/index.php; I have not posted all of my citations yet but if you see something of use, please feel free to contact me.

Thanks!
