Hi Alberta,
According to the "Kettering" book pp. 846-47:
"KETTENRING, Valentine, 1832. Born at Wythe Co, VA. Died at Greene Co, Tenn. Son of John Kettenring. Married Feb. 20, 1811. Eva Messmore. Born at Pa. Died at Clinton Co,Ind. [Please note the spelling of the children's last names--the Ketterings used various spellings-Kettering, Kettenring, Catron, Katron, etc.] Elizabeth Catron, Feb 16, 1813-July 6, 1897. Margaret Catron, Mar 2, 1815-Oct 5, 1887. Jemima Catron, Aug 18, 1818-Nov 29, 1907. Andrew Catron, Aug 7, 1820-Apr 1896. Christian Catron, Apr 25, 1823-Aug 23, 1861. Valentine Catron, Jr, Jan 15, 1825-May 2, 1875. [No name entered for this date] Mar. 30, 1828. Henry Messmore Catron, Aug 3, 1830-Apr 4, 1915. (changed name to Catron) 11 children."

p. 1086 has only:
"MESSMORE, Eva, married Valentine Kettenring."

There are 10 other MESSMOREs listed on that page, but none show children named Eva.
I hope this helps you.
