My parents have a copy of the family crest as researched by Henry Catron in Germany. It is a nice size drawing that is hanging in their house. It is a very interesting story and I know that Louis Ketron's "Kettenring" book details a great deal more than I can go into here. I weatr the Kettenroing family crest on a signet ring (I never take it off!) as do some of my other relatives in Richmond, VA. The crest is German min origin, but the Kettenring family in Northamptonshire, England may have adopted a more anglo coat of arms after immigrating to the UK. The crest details the tools of a higher level of armor maker for knight and horses. Appearantly, they held some sort of "royal warrant" to the local aristoctracy for making armor. Wish that I knew so much more . . . and could pass it on to you.
