I have been trying to find information on my 4th great grandfather John H. Kewley. In two Texas census it states he was from IOM and in one he states Vermont.
I have a feeling he was born in IOM and immigrated to the US after his birth in 1818 to the northern states then head south finally setteling in Texas.
Does anyone have access to the early immigration logs for the northern states, or does anyone have information on any Kewleys migrating from NH, VT, northern states, south, but neccesarily into Texas. He may have come here in the 1840's, since he shows up in the 1850 Grimes County, Tx area.
Any help is greatly, greatly appreciated.
Clues:
His first son's name was John M (?) Kewley, and the second son was named Joseph.
