Hello Bronwyn,
I am Alan Kewley, the son of Alfred & Beatrice Kewley & of course cousin to Betty & Mick Lane. What prompted me to look on the internet was that I recently visited the birth place of my father in Foxdale,I.o.M. and then realized that I knew very little about my Grandmother, Alice Bower. Betty Lane was in England in 1954 and I recall that she did some research on Alice Bower, whomI was told by my Father came from Malvern, Gloucestershire. I am hoping that Betty's immediate relations may have some information that would serve as a starting point.Should you have any perhaps you would be good enough to contact me.
You may like to know that I have a genealogical tree of our branch of the Kewleys going back 1429 A.D. This was kindly sent to me by my second cousin Ralph Kewley living in the I.o.M. and who has a deep interest in this subject. {I had the last letter that Alice Bower wrote to my father on her departure with her daughters to Australia warning him of the dangers of drink and gambling but alas it crumbled away.}
I intend to visit the island in a week or two's time and I am hoping to stay in Gretch Lea Cottage. D.V. I will let you have any information I gather.

Yours sincerely,

Alan Kewley.
