Sue,
Thanks for your note.I have only been able to trace my ancestry back to John W. Key (1822 - 1884).It has never been clear who John's parents were, although I know that they wewe born in KY.It is possible that Abner Key and Nancy Robertson were John W. Key's grandparents. If they married in 1798, and then had a son (possible named Martin), he would have been born around 1800.If Martin married around 1820, then my ancestor, John W. Key (born in 1822) may have been Martin's son.It is certainly worth pursuing.Unfortunatley, census records prior to 1850 do not include children or wives names, so all this it is difficult to verify.
It is interesting to note that John W. Key's two oldest sons were named Abner David and John Martin.By the way, if a connection can be made, I can provide detail info on all the Key family generations that followed John W. including myself. Abner Key(1843-1927) was my direct ancestor.
Thanks again for the info..
