The post below was found at the KEY family forum - notice that James Key had a daughter VENNELAH KEY - I would guess this is Fenella - At one point in Jones Co NCa Buck Barry sold land to a Jonathan Key - Buck Barry family was associated with the Gray family that married into Titus Howard family of Mississippi - seems like this Vernella is the person you are looking for - Mary Scott

James Key, a blacksmith, recorded a land grant in 1751 in the southwest corner of Carteret Co., NC on White Oak River and Houston Creek in what is now the Croatian National Forest. Land Grant is dated November 16, 1751. He is thought to have immigrated from Cardiff, South Wales to the New England states in 1748.
Jones Co., NC was formed from Craven Co. in 1778, but a small area of Carteret Co. was included in Jones Co. where land of James Key was located.
James Key died in 1766 leaving a wife Mary and four children: Jonathan Key (my ancestor), Joseph Key, Elizabeth Key, and Vennelah Key. Will was proven in Carteret County, NC on October 6, 1766.
James Key had a brother Jonathan Key, a tailor, who lived on the opposite side of White Oak River in Onslow County, NC that was formed in 1734. Jonathan Key, brother of James Key, died in Onslow County, NC on December 26, 1778 leaving a wife Susannah and three girls: Polly, Nancy, and Elizabeth (Betsy).
Jonathan Key served as a musician in the Revolutionary War in Donaho's Company and later as a Private. He enlisted in 1777 and was discharged on August 21, 1778. He received land grant No. 1805 for 228 acres of land located in what is now Williamson County, TN which he later sold to Zebulon Hubbard.
