KIDD family in NY-1800s

Thanks in advance to anyone with help...just beginning this research that my son has been pressing me to do for years....I am realted to the KIDD family that emigrated to the Walden area of what is now Orange County...Alexander Kidd obtained land via a grant and the town was originaaly called Kidd town prior to grandmother was Midred Kidd Tears and her parents were John Kidd and Bertha VanKleeck Kidd...

On John Kidd's side I have the following, which may be incorrect.....
John Egbert Kidd and Alice Decker Kidd parents

John Egbert Kidd son of John Kidd and Cornelia Haines -owned hat shop in Newburgh NY

John Kidd-son of Andrew Kidd and Margaret?

Andrew Kidd son of Robert and Mary Mcgowan

Andrew son of Alexander and ?

As I said I have just started...only been doing this for a day ot so...would be interested in any other information..I still have to link the David L Kidd who was an Orange Blossom with the 124th Vol Reg in the Civil War...My grandmother and great granmother and aunts insist that our tree includes Captain Kidd who was a fourth unlce to John and Bertha...of course seeing all these posts..I feel overwhelmed, to say the least..

Thanks for any assistance...
