I am looking for any information on the possibility of Native American heritage being connected to Leama(Emma Lee) Pennington, wife of James Raleigh/Rollie Kidd. I have seen a message posting where Leama (Emma Lee) was supposedly an orphan from a Sioux Tribe and was adopted by the Kidd family and then married James R. Kidd.
Leama (Emma Lee) Pennington was born 1878 in Hempstead, Arkansas. She was the daughter of Jacob G. Pennington and Sarah E., last name unknown. Jacob was born about 1841 Louisiana. Jacob and Sarah’s children were: Leama, Eugene, Lethy, Maggie and Alenedia.
Leama married James Rollie Kidd who was born 1876 in Hempstead, Arkansas. He was a son of James Tilman Kidd and Jane R.E. Phillips.
Leama and James both are buried in Texarkana, Texas. All of their children were born in Arkansas. Have no idea when or why they moved to Texas. Their children were: Sarah, Sabenia, Allie, Bessie, Henagan Aubrey, Janie, Mary, Tilman, Willie and Lou W.
Would appreciate any help. Thanks.
