Hi,
William Kidd (s/o Andrew Kidd & Christine Donnelly) married Janet Beaton (d/o Samuel Beaton & Margaret Reid) on June 30, 1911 in Paisley, Scotland. William was a blacksmith and 23 at the time of his marriage. They had one child (that I know of), Ernest Kidd.
In 1913, Margaret Kidd and her 7 month old son, Ernest arrive in Quebec aboard the Athena on May, 26, 1913. she declares $15, and is planning to settle in Galt.
Maybe William has already come over? I have not found an emigration record for him yet.
Janet had a twin brother, Norman. Norman, and three other brothers had already come to North America. George Beaton settled in Nova Scotis, and Thomas and Samuel were working in Michigan.
Does anyone know this family? I believe William and Janet stayed in the Galt area.
Mary
