John Brittain Kidd of Williamson County, TN
Posted by: Susan Murray (ID *****1860) Date: February 16, 2012 at 17:52:18

I am seeking information on John Brittain Kidd, son of George Washington Kidd and Martha Ann Brittain Kidd.

John was born April 1860 in Franklin, Williamson County, Tennessee, and died April 15, 1887, possibly in Nashville, Davidson County, Tennessee. The source of this date was a notation in the bible of his mother-in-law, Margaret Plosser, of Birmingham.

He married Lillie Plosser on September 3, 1885, probably in Birmingham, AL, the home of the bride, but it may have been the Nashville area, or some other location. I believe this young couple lived in the Nashville area after the marriage.

Lillie Plosser Kidd was born November 2, 1855 in Clarksville, Montgomery County, Tennessee, the daughter of Ben Plosser and Elizabeth Wolfe Plosser. She died November 23, 1886 in Nashville (I think). Lillie's extended family lived in the Goodlettsville, Davidson County, Tennessee area for years. When her parents relocated to Birmingham from Tennessee, she briefly lived in Birmingham with her family.

The duration of the marriage was only a little over a year. I do not think any surviving child was born of this marriage, but I am not certain.

Does anyone have any information about this couple? I would like to know where they are buried.

Thanks!
Susan
