Hello,
There is more information atwww.familysearch.orgthis year, and I just checked and find Roscoe mentioned in 1910 in Kansas:
name: Roscoe B Kidder
birthplace: New Hampshire
relationship to head of household: Father-in-law
residence: Rossville, Shawnee, Kansas
marital status: Married
race : White
gender: Male
immigration year:
father's birthplace: Vermont
mother's birthplace: Vermont
family number: 206
page number: 8
Household Gender Age Birthplace
selfFrank J MartzM 34y Illinois
wifeNettie L MartzF 28y Kansas
sonClarence R MartzM 10y Kansas
dauAmande L MartzF 8y Kansas
dauRuth E MartzF 4y Kansas
dauViolet R MartzF 1y Kansas
Roscoe B KidderM 66y New Hampshire
At the HeritageQuest census records, the1910 page says Roscoe had been married for 29 yrs., and no wife is mentioned.(He married Lucy around 1880 ?)And it says he was born in NH and his parents were both born in VT.That means he did not know about his birth-parents.Both his father, Charles, and himself, were born in Westford, MA.I have not been able to find out where his mother, Clarissa, was born.
I cannot find Roscoe B. KIDDER in the 1800's in census information. This is possibly him in 1900.I think the transcriber just couldn't read the handwriting:
KIDDER, RUSKER B(1900 U.S. Census)
KANSAS , SHAWNEE, 1-WD TOPEKA
Age: 55, Male, Race: WHITE, Born: MA
Series: T623 Roll: 500 Page: 176
I cannot read the wife's name;it's a long name possibly starting with an S.It says she was born in Illinois, and her parents were born in ,,Actually I can't read that, either, but it sort of looks like, Canadian and Louisianan. And, on 2nd look, the wife's name could be:Louisiana.
Their first child was son, George W. KIDDER, born Nov. 1884?Then daughter, Emma M. KIDDER, born Jul??, 1889.So, daughter, Nettie, had not yet been born... This says they had been married for 10 yrs. and had 3 children, and 3 live.Oh, that means Nettie was the oldest child and possibly had moved out or was already married.(They lived on Laurent St.)
A reminder is that Roscoe was listed in 1860 as a teen and living with one of the couples his mother had sent him to live with:
KIDDER, ROSCO B(1860 U.S. Census)
NEW HAMPSHIRE , HILLSBOROUGH, HOLLIS
Age: 14, Male, Race: WHITE, Born: NH
Series: M653 Roll: 673 Page: 298
