COALTON - Joseph Suslee, 86, of Coalton died Thursday, Oct. 26, 2006, at Memorial Medical Center.

He was born March 6, 1920, in Coalton, the son of Steve and Dora Horvatch Suslee. He married Hazel Kiefer in 1944 in Nokomis.

Mr. Suslee was a coal miner and retired from Caterpillar in Decatur, where he was a machinist for 30 years.

He was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church in Nokomis and a charter member of the Nokomis Sportsman Club and C.C. Club.

Survivors: wife, Hazel; three sons, Kenneth (wife, Wanda) and David (wife, Michelle) Suslee, both of Nokomis, and Daniel Suslee of Coalton; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a brother, Steve Suslee of Whitmore Lake, Mich.

Services: 10 a.m. Monday, St. Louis Catholic Church, Nokomis, the Rev. Chris Comerford officiating. Burial: Calvary Cemetery, Nokomis.

Stiehl-Dawson Funeral Home in Nokomis is in charge of arrangements.
