I'm looking to find Irish roots to my GrandMother's people from Limerick. I believe they immigrated to Ontario Canada about 1840. All records here indicate the family name was spelled "Kylie"
Perhaps the deviation came about during the census taking which happened every 10 years.
Edmund Kylie was apparently a tanner and graduated into the footware business. For many years up to WW2 the family descendants operated a shoe store in downtown Peterboro.
All family are buried in St Peter's cemetary here in the City. Many of the descendants farmed hee as well.
