In Fayette Co. (W)VA I found 1st a marriage for John GIGER and Malinda ROWSEY. md. 08-26-1841. By John Johnson. They evidently had (2) children before John died or maybe divorced. (I have not found him again in this area). 2nd marriage, John HUGHES md. Malinda GIGER 01-06-1848. By Andrew Dixon.
In the 1850 Nicholas Co. census; John HUGHES 45, Malinda (ROWSEY)Giger 40, Mary 9, James 6, Nancy 8 months (this Nancy must be John HUGHES and Malinda's first child.
In 1860 Nicholas Co. census I find; John HUGHES 50, Malinda 40, Selina 8, Mahala 5, John Henry 14 (ages are off for John and Malinda)

Living next door to John and Malinda in 1860, there is; Kilburn/Kilbourn RAMSEY/Rousey/Rowsey 60, Cynthia 30. This Kilborn Rowsey/Rousey was Malinda's father.
The Malinda Hughes you are referring to must be another Malinda, not Mary Kiger's mother.
Mary Kiger Osborne passed away at 82, 31 Oct 1925 at Spring Hill, WV. Her death was reported by Wyatt Osborne, her son.
