Hi Ron and everyone else, I have been finding other Kiggins from the mid 1800's to the Revolutionary War i.e. in Ohio County Virginia 1850 Census John Kiggins age 84 born Virginia and family Samuel Kiggins age 81 born Virginia and family John Kiggins also appears on the 1830 Ohio County Virginia Census. A grandaughter of John Kiggins, Eilzabeth Kiggins marries one E.G. Craft abt 1860 or 1870 near Wheeling West Virginia. Revolutionary War John Kigan or Kiggins and or John E. Kiggins served in the 6th and 10th Battalions of the Virginia Continintal Line Charles Kiggins Ensign Shenandoah Militia, took oath 22 June 1780 William Kiggins Captain Shenandoah Militia, took oath 22 June 1780 One John Kiggins age 26 died in 1756 a member of the shenandoah Militia Killed in action in the French and Indian wars For those of us that don't know where Ohio County Virginia is, after 1863 it became Ohio County, West Virginia, county seat is Wheeling. this area was claimed by both Virginia and Pennsylvania in the late 1700's and I am getting the idea that our ancester Jonathan and his brother Robert may well have been born here and thought at the time that it was Washington County Pennsylvania. As this is on the natural migration route from Virginia into the Northwest Territories and I am finding people in Virginia spelling there name Kiggins of Kigan, I am beggining to think that this is where we will find our earlier ancester.
