Jack St. Clair Kilby, as far as I know, is still alive. He is a descendant of John1 Kilby of Culpeper through his grandson St. Clair Burbridge Kilby. This branch moved to Illinois in the early 1800s.

The father of Jack St. Clair Kilby was Hubert St. Clair Kilby, who devised the 1940s Kilby chart which many of us have.

An aside, certain conspiracy theorists think that the silicon chip was "lifted " from the alien space craft wreck at Roswell, New Mexico in the 1950s. Jack St. Clair Kilby, if he is reading this, may wish to comment.
