According to McClellen Kilby's World War One draft card ,filled out September 12, 1918,he was working for a company called W.R.(or W.H.) Hubbard,which was located in the same town in which McClellen lived,Moravian Falls. The company he worked for did Public Works Jobs.
He was of Medium Height and slender build ,had grey eyes and light color hair.
His nearest relative is his wife Annie Kilby.
In my previous post i neglected to put the info for 1930 census
United States Census North Carolina,Wilkes County, Moravian Falls Township,District 13
In my previous post i had the 1880 census with John W. Kilby
listed,it has his birth year as 1844,i found a record of a John W. Kilby,born the same year, serving in the 37th North Carolina ,Company F,formed in Wilkes County

A mention of him is in the book " North Carolina Troops 1861-1865 A Roster. 13 vols. Raleigh: University Graphics, 1993.North Carolina. Division of Archives and History

Enlisted as a Private on September 24 1861 at the age of 17
listed in Company F, 37th Infantry Regiment North Carolina on November 20 1861.
Listed as deserted on July 23 1863
returned on November 05 1863
promoted to Full Corporal on July 01 1864
listed as deserted to enemy on March 22 1865
took Oath of Allegiance at Washington, DC
transferred on March 22 1865 at Washington, DC
