This is not my line but I have done a little research in the past at Gloucester Record Office and came across this branch.

John KILBY b 1804/5 in Southrop Gloucestershire, son of Richard KILBY, shepherd, married Elizabeth Ann IND b 1814/15 in Teddington, daughter of William and Mary Ann IND, on 26 August 1843, in Hatherop, Gloucestershire. Their son Richard KILBY (b 1844 in Hatherop) married Mercy MARSHALL (b 1847, dau of William MARSHALL) on 11 March 1871 in Westbury on Trim, Gloucestershire and shortly thereafter emigrated to the US. Other people have traced Richard and Mercy and their family to Taney County, Missouri by 1900, having travelled there via Kansas. John and Elizabeth had at least 6 children, one of whom - John Charles (b 1851 in Hatherop) also ended up in Taney County.

I am not sure about your reference to a John KILBY b 1824.

I hope the above is useful.

Eric Kilby
