My James KILEY was living in Livingston County, NY in 1840 with Ellen FILBERMAN (wife), children Michael 18, Mary 16, Thomas 14, Ellen 11, Joanna 6, James 3, and Cattraine 1/12. James is a stone cutter. He and Ellen are both born in Ireland, Michael born in Monroe County, NY and the others born in Livingston County. I have been unable to locate them after this census. I believe he worked on the canal systems. Do they appear on the MI census? All help greatly appreciated.
