My grandfather was William Patrick Kiley and when I was about 10 years he told me: _his name was originally spelled Kiely and had been changed by the immigration officials for ease in spelling. _his father's name was Dennis. _he grew up at the family home in County Clair and showed me on a map; up the Shannon River where it turns. _after he "came over" he lived with his mother, Mary Noonan and sister Stacia in Utica, NY _when he was 34 he left Utica for California, but was "caught" by my grandmother, Margaret Anne and they lived happily in Chicago and retired to Flordia. His only son was William Henry Kiley (my father) who married Marylin Ann Miller (1/6/41) and they were lifelong residents of the Chicago, IL area. I was conceived to be a draft deferrment shortly after Pearl Harbor, DOB 11/4/42 I lived in my grandfather's apartmemt bldg until 10 then moved to Palos Heights, Cook Co., Il, School Dist 128. I graduated from Brother Rice, HS, Chicago, IL in 1960, joined the Navy to get away from home, graduated from IIT, BSME '64 and Ensign USN. Served on the Commissing Crew of the USS Bergall (SSN667).
