Great to see another KILEY researching their KILEY tree !! Several of us are already researching our KILEY ancestors. Also, note the surname often has been spelled KIELY, KEILY, KILLEY, etc. - our ancestors did use their "spell-checkers" very well.
I can't provide any immediate help based on the information you have given. Do you have any additional details on John B. KILEY ?
I have John KILEY's in my tree going back to 1837, born Digby, Nova Scotia, Canada. But, my KILEY tree is one of 4 or 5 separate KILEY families all in Nova Scotia & PEI circa 1830's. These different KILEY families moved into New England, New York, etc. over the following decades. Some KILEY's were LOYALISTS - that is, Loyal to Great Britain during the Revolutionary War - and were moved out of New England to Nova Scotia during that War.
My KILEY tree, which included LOYALISTS, was Church of England (Anglican) at least in 1827. It appears my KILEY relatives retained the protestant faith over the years.
Many other KILEY-families emigrated directly to the East Coast (Massachusetts, NY) from Ireland. Since most families retain the same religion this can be useful hint.
Also, do you know where your John B. was born ? Parents ? Full Middle name ? Where your KILEY's have lived, etc ?
Perhaps with a few more details one of us will be able to pin-point where your John B. KILEY fits into our extended KILEY family.
