As it was told in our family Patrick Kilker was in the British Navy and some how met Nancy Everritt in England ,Nancy who was Protestant and Patrick Catholic. Nancy converted to his Religion and her family ostracized her. He was also ostracized by his family for being a traitor to the Irish cause. At his death she ,Nancy Everritt Kilker, brought her family to America , from the Belmullet, Mayo area, some what before the 1870 Census being she is listed in the 1870 census as Ann Kilker ( Nancy wasn't an accepted Catholic name at that time). The town was Byrnesville in Columbia County ,Pennsylvania in the coal fields.
Her children she came to America with were Mary Kilker,Nancy ,Bridget,Brian and William who went west.
My connection is Nancy Kilker married Patrick Mohan who were are my maternal GGrandparents. Mary Kilker married Patrick Mohan's brother Anthony. Bridget married a Walsh, the others I'm not sure of. One of Patrick and Nancy Kilker Mohan's 16 children was my Grandfather Thomas Mohan who was born in Byrnesville 1875.
